About KPV
KPV is a C-terminal tripeptide fragment (Lys-Pro-Val) derived from α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), corresponding to positions 11–13 of the 13-amino acid neuropeptide. Unlike the parent α-MSH molecule, KPV lacks the full melanocortin receptor binding N-terminal sequence but retains the C-terminal region proposed to mediate some of the peptide's anti-inflammatory properties independently of melanocortin receptor activation in certain in vitro models. The tripeptide's small size (MW 370.44 g/mol) makes it amenable to transport across biological barriers in experimental models.
Research investigations of KPV have focused on its effects on NF-κB nuclear translocation and pro-inflammatory cytokine expression in intestinal epithelial cell culture models, its potential interaction with intracellular melanocortin-like binding sites, and its behavior as a stable, membrane-permeable anti-inflammatory signaling fragment. This compound is used by researchers studying peptide-mediated inflammatory pathway modulation in controlled in vitro settings.

Lyophilized Research Peptides
This product is supplied in lyophilized (freeze-dried) form — a process that extends shelf life and preserves peptide purity and structural integrity during storage. No fillers, excipients, or preservatives are used in the lyophilization process. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted with an appropriate research-grade solvent in a controlled laboratory environment prior to use in in vitro or preclinical assay systems.
