About B12
Methylcobalamin is the methyl-substituted form of vitamin B12 (cobalamin), in which a methyl group is directly bonded to the cobalt(III) center of the corrin macrocycle. Unlike cyanocobalamin (the most common supplemental form), methylcobalamin carries a methyl group at the upper axial ligand position and is one of the two metabolically active cobalamin coenzyme forms in mammals, alongside adenosylcobalamin. It serves as the obligate cofactor for methionine synthase in the remethylation of homocysteine to methionine in one-carbon metabolism.
Research applications for methylcobalamin include its use as a substrate in methionine synthase enzyme activity assays, one-carbon metabolism pathway investigation, cobalamin coenzyme chemistry studies, and as a reference standard in homocysteine metabolism research. In neurological research models, the compound has been studied for its role in myelin basic protein synthesis regulation and neurotrophin signaling pathway support in cell culture systems. This product is provided for laboratory research use only.

Lyophilized Research Peptides
This product is supplied in lyophilized (freeze-dried) form — a process that extends shelf life and preserves peptide purity and structural integrity during storage. No fillers, excipients, or preservatives are used in the lyophilization process. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted with an appropriate research-grade solvent in a controlled laboratory environment prior to use in in vitro or preclinical assay systems.
