About Glutathione

Glutathione (GSH) is the primary low-molecular-weight thiol antioxidant in mammalian cells, existing as the tripeptide γ-glutamylcysteinylglycine. The molecule's distinctive γ-peptide bond between glutamate and cysteine — formed between the glutamate γ-carboxyl group rather than the α-carboxyl group — confers resistance to most proteases. The free thiol group of the central cysteine residue is the biochemically active moiety responsible for its roles as a substrate for glutathione peroxidases, glutathione-S-transferases, and glutaredoxins.

Research applications for glutathione include its use as a biochemical reference standard in oxidative stress assay systems, as a substrate for glutathione-metabolizing enzyme characterization, and as a research tool in studies of cellular redox homeostasis and thiol-disulfide exchange chemistry. Laboratory investigations have employed GSH in examining Nrf2/Keap1 pathway activity, ferroptosis mechanisms, and the regulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cellular models. This compound is intended for in vitro and preclinical laboratory research by qualified investigators.

Lyophilized Research Peptides

This product is supplied in lyophilized (freeze-dried) form — a process that extends shelf life and preserves peptide purity and structural integrity during storage. No fillers, excipients, or preservatives are used in the lyophilization process. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted with an appropriate research-grade solvent in a controlled laboratory environment prior to use in in vitro or preclinical assay systems.
